How to reach?

By air

Bhuntar is the nearest airport to Barshaini. You can get a direct flight from Delhi to Bhuntar. Direct and connecting flights both are available depending on the availability. From Bhuntar you can hire a taxi/cab and reach Barshaini. Public transport is also easily available to reach from Bhuntar to Barshaini.

By Road

Buses are easily available from Delhi to Kullu/ Manali. From there you can take a local bus or hire a taxi and reach Kasol. Kheerganga is approximately 23 km away from Kasol so, there are many local buses available from Kasol that will help you to reach the starting point of Kheerganga which is Barshaini.

By Train

The nearest station to Kasol is Pathankot or Joginder Nagar from Delhi. From any of these stations, you can take a local bus or a cab to travel to Kasol, and from Kasol reach the starting point of the trek Barshaini.

Best Time to Visit

Kheerganga trek can be done anytime throughout the year however the best time to visit Kheerganga is between March to June and September to November. When you can expect pleasant weather, greenery valleys with a bright sky. Visiting to Kheerganga trek must be avoided in monsoon season as during this season the place gets slippery due to rain and it can be treacherous for the trekkers. 

The temperature between March to June ranges from 13 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius making it preferable for trekkers and the temperature. In January to February ranges from 3 Degrees Celsius to 10 Degrees Celsius which is not favorable and Kheerganga trek is closed this time. It is best advised to visit during the summer season.

Trekking Routes to Kheerganga

  • Via Natkhan Village 

The trekking route from Barshaini to Kheerganga via a Natkhan village is the shortest route which takes around 3-4 hours to reach. You need to take a left turn from the Barshaini bridge. This is the well-known route on the side of the Parvati River.

  • Via Tosh Village

Alternatively, you can take a path from Tosh village which is around 7 km from Tosh and is mostly preferred by those tourists who live nearby Tosh. Tosh River flows by it which meets the Parvati River near Pulga.

  • Via Kalga Village

The Trek from Kalga Village starts from Barshaini, from the bridge take the right and trek towards the Kalga village and enjoy the serene beauty and the atmosphere. This trek route is not used by many as it is known to few so it is advisable to take a guide along.
